Free file converter for Mac
Right-click.

Done.

v0.1.12.0 MBmacOS 13+Apple Silicon & Intel
How it works
Set up once. Then it’s one click.
There’s no app to open each time and nothing to drag in. Easie waits in the background and appears where you already work: Finder’s right-click menu.
-
Install Easie
Open Easie.dmg, drag Easie into Applications, and open it once. macOS asks you to confirm the first time: go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
-
Right-click any file
In Finder, right-click (or Control-click) a file, or several, and choose Edit with Easie. The formats it can become pop out around it.
-
Click the format
The new file appears next to the original, with the same name. Your original is never changed, and an existing file is never replaced.
Formats
23 formats in. The right one out.
Pick what you have to see what Easie can turn it into. This is the same list the app uses.
Privacy & safety
Your files stay on your Mac.
Easie uses the converters already built into macOS. There’s no server, no account and nothing to upload, and every release is tested against booby-trapped files.
Network requests
Easie never goes online. In testing, a web page packed with trackers and remote images made zero requests while it was converted.
Nothing overwritten
Every conversion writes a new file. If the name is taken, Easie adds a number instead of replacing what’s there.
Safe with strange files
A “zip bomb” hiding 600 MB inside a fake PowerPoint is refused, using 29 MB of memory instead of freezing your Mac.
Quick to appear
After the first use, the popup opens in about a fifth of a second. The whole app is a 2 MB download.

Questions people ask
macOS says Easie can’t be opened. What do I do?
That message appears for apps from outside the App Store that haven’t been notarized by Apple yet. You only need to approve Easie once:
1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
2. Scroll down to the message about Easie and click Open Anyway.
3. Confirm with your password or Touch ID.
I don’t see “Edit with Easie” when I right-click.
Open Easie from Applications and check that the Right-click menu switch is on. If you have many Finder extensions, macOS moves the item into Quick Actions or Services at the bottom of the menu.
Why did Pages, Keynote or Numbers open for a moment?
Apple keeps the Pages, Keynote and Numbers formats private, so only Apple’s apps can read them. Easie asks the app to export the file, then closes it again. macOS asks once whether Easie may do this. Those apps are free on the Mac App Store; everything else works without them.
Is it really free?
Yes. No trial, no ads, no paid tier and no sign-up.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac with macOS 13 Ventura or newer, with Apple Silicon or Intel.
Can I turn it off, or remove it?
To hide it from the right-click menu, open Easie and switch Right-click menu off. To remove it completely, click Quit Easie in that window and drag Easie from Applications to the Trash.
